NoahSNerf- Tactics

Running into a Nerf battle with nothing but a gun isn't very good idea. Here are some tactics by NoahSNerf that may well save you. And feel free to copy.

Distraction Shot:
This one is really simple, but it only works at a close distance. Shoot one dart in the air (otherwise known as a lob), then, as your opponent is watching it, shoot them! Simple. Now, you could do this with 2 guns, e.g. a Secret strike and a Magstrike. (Not the only combo.) Lob with the secret strike, then unleash all of the Magstrike bullets on them. Trust me, there’s no escaping if you’ve got a rapid fire blaster as your second weapon. (Not including the Raider.) This technique works very well, regardless of whether or not you use 1 gun or 2.
Wasting:
Now, this one may sound stupid, but not a horrible tactic. All you have to do is dodge all of your opponents bullets, wait until they’re out of ammo, then attack. This won’t work if your cornered as you won’t be able to dodge easily. Once again, a rapid fire gun would work well when doing this.
Lobbing:
I mentioned this before, but a lob is a high shot. It gets you more distance, goes over barriers, and, if done correctly, is nearly impossible to dodge. If an enemy is behind a barrier, just shoot a few lobs and chances are you’ll hit them. Once again, the Magstrike is a great gun for this, as, if you keep the blaster straight, all the bullets will land within a certain area, making it more likely that you’ll hit them. Just try not to do this when in an open area. Especially if there’s someone with 2 stampedes running at you…
Doorways:
Corners and Doorways are perhaps the most dangerous areas of a battleground, as, if there’s someone waiting on the other side, against the wall so you can’t see them, they can easily shoot you. There are multiple ways to avoid getting shot around a corner or doorway but most of them don’t work. These ones do. The first step is to flank all around the door, so you can get a view of most of what’s in the room you’re about to enter. This way you’ll see if there is anyone in there. But people are smart. They stay as close to the wall that the doorway is on as possible, so that, when you flank, you can’t see them. One way to get through, is to poke your gun (preferably a pistol like the Maverick) around the side without revealing your limbs, body or head, and shoot parallel to the wall. This is called a blind shot. Do this to both sides, and, chances are, if there was someone pressed up against the wall ready to shoot, you would have hit them. The second way is to sprint straight through their line of fire. They’ll fire a shot, but it’ll miss as you’ve already gone past. All you have to do then is shoot them, as they will have cornered themselves. If you’re a little less confident, call for backup. After all, you can’t take out 2 people with one dart.
Intimidation:
The intimidation factor plays a huge part in Nerf. If you’re terrible at Nerf, but are armed with a big, scary gun, people will stay away from you. This can help a LOT. It even works if the gun is empty! (If they can’t see that it’s empty, that is.) For example, if you’ve run out of bullets in your gun, don’t say…
“OH NO!! I’M OUT OF BULLETS AND NOW I AM COMPLETELY VULNERABLE BECAUSE I HAVE TO RELOAD! I HOPE NO ONE TAKES ADVANTAGE OF THIS FACT!!”
Just walk towards them confidently with your gun pointed towards them. If they fire, just dodge. They’ll retreat after a while. When that happens, RUN. SPRINT. Get somewhere safe and reload.
Another way to escape is, if you’ve got a gun that makes a REALLY loud noise, (Like the Stampede or Magstrike,) use it. They’ll get scared. It will buy you a tiny bit of time. Like, a few seconds.
Now, if someone comes at you with an intimidating gun, don’t worry. You’re not going to die. Just remember that it’s the gun that’s good. Not them. To beat them, just outsmart them with your knowledge.
Spraying:
Spraying. We’ve all done it at one point. Well, you might not know it as spraying. It’s also known as…Randomly shooting EVERYWHERE in hopes of hitting someone. Spraying can actually come in handy in a war. For example, if you’re cornered, and need to run off, start spraying. Your opponents will run for cover, giving you time to run away. Another thing spraying is great for is helping to intimidate people. Walk towards them confidently, say something EPIC, (may I suggest something from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger or Mr T.) then start spraying everywhere. (This looks best with an Alpha-trooper or Raider.) They’ll go scuttling off.
Now, spraying isn’t supposed to hit people, but you’ll be surprised at the amount of hits you get. Sometimes they even run INTO bullets!

Hit and Run
This one’s pretty self explanatory.
Basically, you sprint at your enemy (or enemies), spray, then run away before they have a chance to react. This works best if you take them by surprise. Also, use rapid fire weapons, like the Magstrike, RF 20, or Raider.
If you’re good at this, you might want to become a rusher. They specialise in this type of play. Check out the Team Roles Page.
